Robbins Park is a multi-use park right in the middle of Davie, Florida. It is a beautiful place to hang out, ride horses, play, and of course, do a photo shoot! These sisters had so much fun together. The first couple minutes of a session can be awkward and intimidating for the subject. I always have my subjects do simple things — easy to understand and accomplish. Once they realize it’s going to be a fun time, they loosen up and take direction more naturally.
Letting kids be kids is the best thing for photo shoots. I told the girls to run around in the field and they really let their personalities shine.
Robbins Park has fields, benches, trees, picnic tables, fences. . . and glorious light in the evening.
We learned a little nugget of useful information though, and we’ll pass it along. If you’re going to lie down in the grass to take some photos, make sure you’re not lying in an ant bed. Oops! Big sister got a couple of bites on her shoulder.
It’s such a peaceful park to hang out at.
